Perfect Fit Harness in Australia
Perfect Fit Harness in Australia options are available online from Manners ’n’ More, with expert fitting advice to help you choose a comfortable, secure and adjustable harness for your dog.
A better harness for dogs who need comfort, security and freedom of movement.
If your dog pulls, backs out of harnesses, dislikes things going over their head, has an awkward body shape, or has been recommended a better fitting harness by your trainer, vet or behaviour professional — you are in the right place to find a Perfect Fit Harness in Australia.
The Perfect Fit Harness is one of the most comfortable, practical and adjustable walking harnesses available for dogs. It is not a one-size-fits-most harness. It is a three-piece harness system designed to be mixed and matched so your dog gets a fit that actually works for their body.
At Manners ‘n’ More, we don’t just sell Perfect Fit Harness in Australia. We help you choose the right size combination so your dog is safe, comfortable and set up for better walks.
Why choose a Perfect Fit Harness?
Most dog harnesses are built around standard sizing. The problem is, dogs are not standard.
- Some dogs have deep chests.
- Some have narrow shoulders.
- Some are long-backed.
- Some are broad through the chest.
- Some are still growing.
- Some are nervous, sensitive, strong, reactive, wiggly, or professional escape artists.
The Perfect Fit Harness is different because it is made from three separate pieces:
How the three-piece system works
|
Top Piece Sits across the back and over the shoulders. Adjustable for a snug neck fit. |
+ |
Y-Shaped Front Piece Sits across the front of the chest between the front legs. Includes the front D-ring. |
+ |
Girth Piece Wraps around the body behind the front legs. Includes the rear D-ring. |
Each piece comes in its own size range — meaning you can mix sizes to suit your dog’s individual shape.
Each piece can be selected in a different size, which means the harness can be built around your dog rather than forcing your dog into a standard shape.
That is why Perfect Fit Harnesses are so often recommended by dog trainers, vets and behaviour professionals.
| Standard Harness | ✓ Perfect Fit Harness |
|---|---|
| One-size-fits-most | Three-piece system — mixed and matched to your dog |
| Can rub or twist | Fleece-lined for comfort — no rubbing or chafing |
| May go over the head | Clips around the neck — no head-struggling required |
| Limited adjustability | Adjustable at shoulder, chest and girth |
| Replace the whole harness when the dog grows | Often replace just one piece as your dog changes shape |
What makes the Perfect Fit Harness different?
Comfort first
The harness is fleece-lined and fitted snuggly to help prevent rubbing, chafing and pressure from webbing straps. This is especially helpful for dogs who wear their harness regularly, have sensitive skin, short coats, or need a harness that feels soft against the body.
No over-the-head struggle
Many dogs hate having harnesses pulled over their head. The Perfect Fit Harness clips around the neck, then swings between the front legs and clips on either side. Your dog does not need to step into it, and you do not need to pull it over their head.
This makes it a much better choice for nervous dogs, puppies, sensitive dogs, older dogs, and dogs who simply do not enjoy being handled in that way.
Secure for escape-prone dogs
Because the Girth strap sits snuggly against the dogs body making it difficult to get their elbows under, the Perfect Fit Harness can be much harder for dogs to back out of compared with many standard harnesses.
This is one of the biggest reasons dog trainers recommend it for dogs who have slipped harnesses before.
Adjustable in the right places
The harness is adjustable over the shoulders, across the front of the chest and around the girth. This helps create a snug, secure and comfortable fit without restricting your dog’s movement.
Front and rear lead attachment points
The harness includes a rear D-ring and a front D-ring.
The front D-ring can be used with a double-ended lead to help with training and better lead handling. Please note: the front D-ring should not be used on its own. For safety and warranty reasons, use a double-ended lead or two leads so that constant pressure remains on the rear D-ring.
Correct Use
Double-ended lead clipped to both the front D-ring and rear D-ring. Constant pressure stays on the rear ring.
Not Recommended
Single lead clipped to the front D-ring only. This places all pressure on the front ring and is not safe or covered by warranty.
Great for growing dogs
Because each harness is made from separate pieces, you do not always need to replace the whole harness if your dog changes shape.
You may only need to replace one section. That makes Perfect Fit a smart option for puppies, young dogs, adolescent dogs, and dogs whose body shape may still be changing.
A walking harness, not a car harness
The Perfect Fit Harness is designed as a walking harness. It is not a crash-tested car harness and should not be used as a car restraint.
“The perfect fit dog harness was recommended to me by my dog trainer after going through many ill fitting harnesses. The perfect fit 20mm is such a great harness—well made, comfortable for my dog, and really easy to put on and adjust. It’s so great to have the ability to customise it to my dogs size and be able to replace sections as he grows. On top of that, the customer service was excellent—Bruce & his team are friendly, helpful, and quick to respond. I would highly recommend manners and more and the perfect fit harness.”

Who is this harness ideal for?
The Perfect Fit Harness is a great choice for:
- Dogs who pull on lead
- Dogs who dislike collars
- Dogs who have slipped out of other harnesses
- Dogs who do not like harnesses going over their head
- Puppies and adolescent dogs
- Dogs with unusual body shapes
- Dogs with broad chests or narrow shoulders
- Rescue dogs and sensitive dogs
- Reactive dogs who need secure handling
- Dogs working through training with a professional
- Owners who want a quality harness that can be adjusted properly
Why harness fit matters
The neck and throat area are vulnerable. Pressure from collars can irritate the throat and place strain on delicate structures around the neck.
A well-fitted harness helps move lead pressure away from the throat and onto the body, where it can be managed more safely and comfortably.
For many dogs, a better harness is not just a nicer piece of equipment. It can make walks feel calmer, safer and more manageable for both dog and owner.
A note for trainer-referred clients
If your dog trainer, vet, behaviourist or instructor has recommended a Perfect Fit Harness, they have likely done so because they want your dog in equipment that is comfortable, secure and suitable for training.
This harness works beautifully with a double-ended lead and is often used as part of better lead walking, confidence building, handling, and behaviour support.
You are welcome to contact us before ordering if your trainer has given you specific fitting instructions.

If your dog needs a better harness, it is worth choosing correctly the first time. A poorly fitted harness can rub, twist, restrict movement, or allow your dog to escape.
